An exciting mix of dye and embroidery techniques reinvigorate the original fabric design from 1879, suitable for blinds, cushions and drapes. The embroidery has been crafted using a variety of yarns: stems are produced in a smart viscose yarn, with cotton flowers and berries in a twisted metallic yarn.

In the bedroom of Emery Walker's House lies a most incredible object, now interpreted by the Morris & Co. design studio; a crewel embroidered coverlet. Created by May Morris, daughter of William Morris, for Emery's wife, Mary, during the last bedridden years of her life, it exemplifies May's astonishing needlework abilities. It also stands as a beautiful tribute to the friendship enjoyed between the Morris and Walker women, and the creativity that love inspired. A treasured item, the coverlet was used as the pall on the coffin of many members of the Walker household.

May's Coverlet is made using hand-guided embroidery on a 100% linen base cloth to carefully replicate the fine stitching pattern by May Morris.

Ben first fell in love with Merton after noticing it on a friend's parents' sofa more than 20 years ago. Designed by John Henry Dearle in 1905, it features an ogival repeat of stylised pomegranates and tulips, surrounded by delicate flowers, apples and scrolling acanthus leaves.

This beautifully printed design of birds and flowerheads trailing a central fruit tree was inspired by a version of the Kelmscott Manor bed hangings crafted for Melsetter House in Scotland. Now translated into a print this new design by Morris & Co. has been painted to create a fresco effect that represents the colourways of the Orkney landscape. Honeysuckle was designed by William Morriss daughter, May, in 1883 and is a realistic arrangement of rambling flowers and entwining leaves. Screen printed on a cotton/linen blend and reproduced for the Queen Square collection in two new colourways, Summer shares a naturalistic, archive inspired look compared with Chocolates autumnal creams and pops of vibrant orange.

The sweet scent of honeysuckle must be one of nature's greatest ‘simple' pleasures. Immortalised by May Morris, William Morris's daughter, in this 1883 design, Honeysuckle is a flowing, complex pattern that mimics the plant's tendency to climb and bind.

First produced in 1876 Honeysuckle & Tulip is an early Morris fabric design depicting entwined foliage and flower motifs in a mirrored pattern repeat. The effect is of a trellis circling large multi petalled tulips and stylised honeysuckle.

Based on an elaborately woven silk velvet brocade designed and produced by Morris in 1884 Granada incorporates pomegranate motifs and ornate trellis reminiscent of the mediaeval textiles which inspired the design. Today Granada is printed on a heavy textured linen to give an antiqued effect. Granada wallpaper available in the Wallpaper Compendium II has been inspired by the fabric and incorporates a trellis design.

A design of incredible detail and beauty, Flowers By May originally adorned the seat of a 17th century chair which once stood in the library of William Morris. Residing since his death in the home of his friend, neighbour and noted typographer, Sir Emery Walker, May Morris created the covered cushion with the dedication MM to EW. Flowers By May is a story about the creativity friendship can inspire, spanning even generations.

The delicately embroidered stripe design of this striking kilim lends to a room a diversity of pattern as well as added depth and a tactile finish. Dorothy's Kilim draws from the original found in the bedroom of Dorothy Walker, the well-travelled daughter of Sir Emery (noted typographer and close friend of William Morris's). This colourful kilim is decorated in the Persian style and features geometric motifs typical of kilims from the old Persian Empire — Turkey and Turkic states.

Morris & Co. are thrilled to introduce only their second kilim ever for the Emery Walker's House collection. Dorothy, like her father, travelled widely and rejoiced in the local craft traditions, as is evidenced by this iconic kilim.
